Beautiful Cycles and Baby Steps

Hello friends, it’s been a while since I’ve had time to write, and so much has happened!

This post will serve as more of a short, quick life update rather than the narratives you’ve become accustomed to seeing, but I assure you, there is more to come and I plan to share more stories of entertainment value soon.

Although I haven’t been posting lately, I have still been diligently creating and experimenting with other forms of writing which I’m excited to share.

As most of you know, I was laid off in April. I spent 5 months of unemployment job hunting and submitting applications all over the U.S. During that same time, I also traveled and had adventures all over the U.S.

I’m pleased to announce that the hunt is over and I have found stable employment. I started my new job two weeks ago, and so begins that new adventure.

It has been an adjustment, for sure. It’s full-time, in-office in downtown Oklahoma City – so a 30-minute drive on a good day. But it’s a really great company, I like the people, and the work suits me well. Plus, they’ve got a terrific cafe on site where the chefs make a different handmade soup everyday, which puts my basic bitch soul in a perpetual state of autumn.

But even with my new employment, the travel adventures and writing aren’t over for me. I’m addicted, now. I can’t stop exploring. As I write this, I’m sitting in the airport waiting to board my flight to Boston. I’ll spend the next week exploring the fall foliage in New England while defining my next writing endeavor.

I get to walk the beaches of Cape Cod, take a foliage train ride through New Hampshire, visit cider houses in Vermont, and finish up the week in Salem during the spooky season.

You probably also know that this summer reinforced my passion for writing and I surprised even myself with my storytelling and narrative artistry while writing blog posts cataloguing my summer adventures. Despite new employment and responsibilities, I’m still as dedicated as ever to my craft, to creating, and to finding new ways to push myself to new heights in that realm.

As an example, I recently took my skills to a new level, crafting a one-of-a-kind narrative about resilience within your storms and finding unique ways of defining your self value, and then got the opportunity to deliver that message at a small, private women’s event. It was the first time I’ve ever delivered my content and the experience was internally igniting and empowering. I was proud of my work; proud of the message; proud of myself!

Reflecting on it, I got to inspire a group of women who I am inspired by! What a beautiful cycle.

I’ve also continued work on my novel; a story which I can only describe at this time as an empowering, authentic female-fiction. I have the outline, and snippets of scenes and dialogues that are exciting steps paving the way toward an eventual end goal.

Also soon to come will be more small published pieces consisting of amusing scenes, dialogues, and messages based on others (not myself this time) that I’ve met and been inspired by – and not always in a good way 😉

::air travel is very good for people watching::

The travel, the camaraderie, the writing, it’s all so fulfilling and brings me such happiness!

I can’t wait to share my adventures in New England with you.
